There is an overwhelming amount of info out there and people are swamped. However, short pointers may be absorbed better. Each week, once or twice weekly, I will zero in on a specific area of job search, so my tips will encompass everything. A comprehensive offering will include one aspect of categories including cover letters, resumes, interviewing; effective networking and other issues that arise (references, thank you letters, Internet applications, and anything else pertinent).
Good luck job hunters!

  1. SO WHY DID YOU PICK OUR COMPANY AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT US?

Easy enough today to find out about a company, organization or agency with the Internet and other prolific resources but it’s a chance to strut your stuff. Be ready to tell all about how you fit in with the company mission. Don’t let those “why’s” stump you. It’s another freebie that some interviewers like to throw out onto the table. Expound upon and illustrate what exactly it is that you can do for them because you have XYZ strengths, talents and have accomplished something similar in the same industry or another parallel one. Make it an intellectual marriage and meeting of the minds in your impressive presentation. Think like an independent contractor. Until and unless the economy bounces back with traditional jobs, you may very well have to be one.
